OJO, KAI JOO cares for your eye health

“Globally, at least 2.2 billion people have a near or distant vision impairment. In at least 1 billion – or almost half – of these cases, vision impairment could have been prevented or has yet to be addressed.”

World Health Organisation – 26 Feb 2021

The prevalence of deteriorating eye health in our community poses a serious concern and we make it our duty and mission in life to educate the community on the importance of healthy vision, and why people should go for regular eye tests. We are keen to share vision care and prevalence of eye health issues with the public, empowering them to take proactive measures to protect their vision.

Our optometrists have been actively engaging willing participants from various companies, offering to share our knowledge on vision care topics through webinars/talks, aiming to educate and raise eye health awareness for the benefit of the working adults in Singapore.

“The prevalence of myopia in Singapore is among the highest in the world, with 65% of our children being myopic by Primary 6, and 83% of young adults being myopic. As such, Singapore is often labelled as the Myopia Capital of the World.”

Speech by Dr Lam Pin Min at the opening of SNEC’s Myopia Centre – 16 Aug 2019

It is therefore crucial for our fellow Singaporeans to heighten their awareness, to learn about early detection and intervention, as well as the preventive measures needed in maintaining good eye health to improve the quality of our lives, and most of all, those of our future generations.

“Say what? Singaporeans may be losing their hearing as early as their 40s”
