Eye Test for our Precious Kids

Dear Parents,

OJO, KAI JOO is pleased to extend the most comprehensive eye examination available in the market to your precious kids. Here is what is included in the eye examination.

  1. Vision Check
Vision Check allows us to check how well your kids are seeing. In most cases, kids below 7 suffer from a small amount of Long-Sightedness, and this correction will progress to 0 when they are about 7 years old. Because the myopia prevalence in Singapore is high, it is crucial to detect any Short-Sightedness at an early age.

  2. Refraction Test
The Refraction Test allows us to determine the refractive correction of the eye – Short-Sightedness (Myopia), Long-Sightedness (Hyperopia), or Astigmatism. Our skilled optometrists will be utilising Retinoscopy to carry out this test. This test is quick, easy and accurate because it does not require a child’s feedback, ultimately reducing the error from inconsistency during the eye check. So, sit back and relax, dear parents!

  3. Binocular Vision Condition (BVC)
BVC is a condition where the eyes are unable to align properly. This causes overcorrection or overcompensation for the misalignment, creating strain on the muscles in the eyes. If not attended to fast enough, it might result in squinting or crossed-eye conditions.

  4. 3D Vision Screening
3D Vision Screening will test if your child has normal three-dimensional (3D) vision. This is done through special patterned plates that will be shown to your child.

  5. Colour Vision
This common condition often goes undiagnosed, because you do not realize you aren’t seeing colours as other people do. Throughout your child’s early years, it is inevitable that some of them may develop some sort of colour vision deficiency. Through Ishihara’s colour plates test, we will be able to identify any deficiency.

  6. Lazy Eye
Lazy Eye (Amblyopia) refers to reduced vision in one eye caused by abnormal visual development. The weaker eye often wanders inward or outward. This condition usually happens early in life (before 7 years old). Common factors causing Lazy Eye includes Opaque Media, Imbalance Long-Sightedness, High Astigmatism and Crossed-Eye Condition. Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent long-term problems with your child’s vision.

Parents, we understand that your love for your children is immeasurable. We often shower them with gifts and material items, but wouldn’t it be great if we could halt the progress of their Myopia or even prevent it entirely? This can be achieved through a simple eye examination done right here at OJO, KAI JOO, with optometrists that truly care about your children’s sight. Book your appointment today with us.
