Our story began in the 1990s, from the first outlet to our current four across Singapore, we remain resolute in our lifelong goals. Inspired by the Gold Standard of Optometric Practices in Australia and the United Kingdom, we hold a distinct vision in improving and caring for our community’s eye health. Ways to get rid of spectacles but still seeing clear

Staying true to our lifelong mission, we are constantly upgrading and improving our services by keeping abreast with the latest technologies in Optometry and Ophthalmology. We are delighted to offer Orthokeratology (Ortho-k) Lenses – lenses to correct refractive errors (primarily near-sightedness, but also astigmatism and farsightedness). In some cases, Ortho-k is also used to correct presbyopia. But mainly, it helps to slow the progression of childhood Myopia.

OJO, KAI JOO’s friendly and professional team includes a brilliant mix of 11 Optometrists and 3 Opticians. Our core mission in delivering the utmost care for your well-being motivates and drives us. We are known for our attention to details and exceptional quality for products and services. This is how we maintain lifelong relationships with our customers and why so many of them have recommended our services to their family and friends.

Lee Kai Hing

Kai Hing holds a BSc (Hons) Optometry from Bradford University, UK. His leadership has led OJO, KAI JOO to grow significantly in scale since its establishment in 1997. Helming the team, he oversees the group’s businesses, implements strategies and is always mindful to align the group’s products and services with his customers’ best interest at heart. A firm believer in contributing to the society, he participates regularly in local and international optometric mission projects, worked as a clinician at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and he was also an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore Polytechnic. Keeping the vision of improving and caring for the community’s eye health close to his heart, he is devoted to his customers’ well-being, demanding the same devotion, passion and interest from his team.

Chin Lian (Jenny)

Chin Lian (Jenny) graduated as an Optometrist with Honours from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. She specializes in Ocular Disease, Myopia Management and Specialty Contact Lens Fitting (RGP, Keratoconus and Orthokeratology). Following the footsteps of her father, an experienced Optician, she aspires to be a professional and well-rounded optometrist from a very young age. Growing up with immense exposure in Optometry, she is extremely well-versed and knowledgeable in her chosen field. Her love and strong passion for Optometry won her the award for “The Best International Student” of the Health Science Faculty of Queensland University of Technology in 1996. Her caring nature complemented her profession seamlessly, strengthening her bonds and relationships with our valued customers and stakeholders for the past decades.  Together with Kai Hing, our customer-centric Chin Lian plays a crucial role in steering the group towards a more sustainable future.

Kang Lian

Kang Lian, a graduate with Honours in Optometry from Cardiff University, UK is a firm believer in lifelong learning. His passion in adopting the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment to enhance and improve the community’s well-being drives him to keep abreast with the latest news and updates on the latest technologies in Optometry and Ophthalmology, especially in relation to Myopia control (Myopia Control Lenses and Orthokeratology). He is currently a member of the Singapore Optometric Association (SOA) and a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC). Kang Lian is constantly researching and exploring ways to enhance and improve the group’s products and services, striving for the deliverance of excellence to ensure customer satisfaction. Resolute in upholding the group’s excellent standard, he constantly shares his clinical experience and diagnostic procedures with our interns and junior optometrists.

Jason

Jason is enthusiastic and dedicated to Clinical Optometry. Pursuing his passion in the field, he is currently a specialist in Orthokeratology (Specialised Contact Lens Treatment in Myopia Control). A stellar Optometry scholar, he was awarded the Gold Medal in Optometry from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2013. Jason believes that everyone deserves to have the highest quality of eye care and is inspired to deliver a superior level of primary eye care standard in Singapore. He hopes to share his knowledge with the community on the importance of eye health examination and the preventative measures for different sight-threatening diseases.

Shin Yi

Shin Yi obtained a Diploma in Optometry from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Her years of experience in the Clinical and Retail optometry setting makes her a great fit for OJO, KAI JOO’s clinical optical practices. Equipped with the appropriate optometry skills and knowledge (particularly in various contact lens fittings), she is professional and consistent in delivering the most suitable treatment for each and every patient. Motivated, friendly and understanding, she is open to exploring various treatments and holistic alternatives, offering patients with various options, if achievable, and is passionate to contribute to the ever-evolving eye care industry.

Tricia

Tricia graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Optometry. Her dedication is reflected in the qualifications and competencies achieved through experience gained since her early working years. She sets her goal in delivering the highest level of professional eye care to the community. This work ethic has helped mould her into the knowledgeable optometrist she is today, especially in Multifocal Contact Lenses Fitting and RGP Fitting. A motivated individual, she aims to serve all OJO, KAI JOO customers with humility and professionalism. Her friendly demeanour helps her build very good rapport with young children.

Ya Yan

Ya Yan graduated as an optometrist from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2013. She has ventured into different industries such as the airlines and hotel management before settling back into primary eye care. Her past working experience in the service and hospitality industries helps hone her customer service skills, enabling her to better understand the customers’ needs and to solve their problems efficiently and earnestly. A passionate learner, Ya Yan actively gathers knowledge from her colleagues to improve her proficiency in Optometry.

Jaslyn

Jaslyn has harboured a desire to provide quality eyecare services to her clients even before graduating from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Optometry. Thanks to her plentiful experience dealing with customers from all walks of life, she is fully equipped to handle any problems that customers may face, all the while listening patiently to them and understanding their concerns. She hopes that all customers experience a good eyecare journey with every visit to OJO / KAI JOO.

Michelle

Michelle graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2020. She is currently pursuing a degree in Optometry at Aston University (UK). Michelle believes in delivering premium optometric care under her supervision.  She has a long-term dream of meeting the growing need for optometric care amongst young children in the increasingly digitized world. She does her best in recommending suitable frames and myopia control lenses, or even specialty myopia control contact lenses for these children. Michelle’s attentiveness and skilfulness in delivering eye care are commonly highlighted in customers’ feedbacks.

Su Wai

Su Wai graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Knowing the struggles that come with the lack of 20/20 vision, and the benefits that clear vision brings, she has been seeking to help more people regain perfect eyesight by being a primary eye care professional. Aptly labelled as persistent, easy-going and adaptable by our customers, she enjoys working with customers and seeing their happy expressions after receiving their glasses. She aims to provide even more for the society in terms of eyecare.

Candy

Candy has been practising with us since OJO, KAI JOO’s early days at Tanjong Katong Complex. Being extremely well versed in both Chinese and Malay, she assists our elderly customers with their queries on spectacles and eye care needs. Candy has 15 years of experience in eye testing and lens edging, always aiming for excellence in every pair of spectacles she dispenses to our valued customers.

Elva

Elva graduated as an Optician from Singapore Polytechnic and is a fully registered Optician. Her jovial and comforting personality is what our customers love about her. They will always remember her iconic and delightful laughter. Most of all, she is extremely experienced with Ophthalmic lens crafting and frame adjustment. Elva’s passion to provide each individual customer with the best eye care experience makes her an incredible asset to our group.

Joscelin

Joscelin completed her Opticianry course in 2013. Friendly and attentive, she is experienced in recommending different specialty lenses suitable for each customer’s individual needs. These lenses range from digital lenses to office lenses for easing the common eye strain problems. She has mastered the art of Opticianry such as challenging frame adjustment and lens edging. Her customers appreciate her honest and genuine advice to their eye care needs. Joscelin has been a great addition to OJO, KAI JOO and will continue to polish her skills in different aspects of Opticianry.

Hon Chong

Hon Chong is OJO, KAI JOO’s certified hearing care professional and REXTON hearing aids dispenser. Hon Chong always has his patient’s best interest at heart. Passionate, patient and professional, Hon Chong makes sure he explains different options of hearing aids allowing the patients make an informed decision on the type of hearing aids they need. Understanding a hearing loss can be isolating and hard to accept. Hon Chong has a strong sense of humour and excellent communication skills, paying particular attention to his patient’s individual hearing needs. You will be delighted and comfortable to speak to him about your hearing needs!
